Stay In Hotel Heritage Haveli Shubham, Jodhpur - A Comfortable and Homely Stay Indeed

May 11, 2014

All of the night flew while we slept and the day journey was lost amongst gossip, food and sightseeing from the bus window. We had taken the 5:30 bus in the evening from Surat and it would take about 15 hours to Jodhpur, we were told. As the first day merged with the other, time passed seamlessly and by 8:30 in the next day, we were in the thick of Jodhpur.

Our stay in Hotel Heritage Haveli Shubham, Jodhpur was booked through the internet and for us the reference point were the images that we had seen online. But the hotel did claim to be offering convenient, homely and relaxed accommodation facility. Of course, it offered rooms that intricately designed and luxurious with all the amenities such as the comfortable large bed and mattress, refrigerator, mini bar, telephone, Wi-Fi connectivity, satellite TV, swimming pool and gymnasium. I am getting gibberish but I guess the tiredness of the journey may have seeped into my writing as well.

In the dark of the night for us, the hotel staff seemed more like our saviors with their quick response to our luggage, the swift closure of formalities and prompt directions to the restaurant. We were famished and nothing would any longer be coherent until we ate. And boy, we did eat or more like gorged on the specialties like real hungry people and why not, after all, the food was delicious too. Nothing else was of any consequence but a comfortable bed. We reached our rooms and it seemed nice and pleasant and without much ado, we slept straight through the night.

The sunlight threatened to peek through the curtains and I was determined to keep it out until the phone on the bedside buzzed. “Wake up”, was the yell from the other end and only then I realized that I may have slept longer than usual. If I did not hurry up fast, we were going to be late for our sightseeing to the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. Reluctantly, I threw the blanket away and began with the morning rituals. And for all those to whom it may matter, the stay in Hotel Heritage Haveli Shubham, Jodhpur was indeed comfortable, homely and relaxed.
